The driver implements all Level 0 (core), Level 1 and most of the Level 2 functions thus making it compatible with most data access, internet, office, and development software using ODBC and ADO standard interfaces. Compatibility with Interbase 4.0 - 7.5, Firebird 1.0 - 2.0 (as of current beta releases). The driver supports advanced InterBase and Firebird features, including new data types. High performance, comparable to native API access. Support for Unicode (Windows only) as well as SBCS/DBCS data. The driver is an Unicode one as defined by ODBC specification. Support for stored procedures from ODBC compliant applications and ADO. Procedures returning result sets and output parameters are supported. The stored procedure execution model is compatible with Microsoft SQL Server so that Interbase procedures can be called via a "linked server" in SQL Server in "RPC out" mode using native SQL Server syntax.
