| Identity Finder helps you prevent identity theft by finding personally identifiable information on your computer and prompting you to either securely delete or encrypt the data it uncovers. One of the most common ways of leaving personal information exposed is not realizing it even exists. Identity Finder is a simple, effective, and inexpensive tool that addresses this critical need unmet by leading antivirus and anti-spyware software. By using proprietary search algorithms to uncover multiple variations of specific types of private information such as social security numbers, credit cards, bank accounts, and online passwords, Identity Finder discovers your identity matches automatically and without requiring you to enter any information. You may also enter unique personal information that Identity Finder will convert into a variety of formats to increase the likelihood of finding the information. Regardless of format, you can find dates of birth, drivers' licenses, personal addresses, passport numbers, mother's maiden names, and more. Identity Finder searches for this information throughout your computer including your web browsers' hidden storage areas such as auto complete fields; web pages and cookies; instant messenger logs; home and office files; compressed files; e-mails and attachments; the Windows registry; and more. A series of simple wizards and an advanced user interface guide you through the process of configuring and starting a search and dealing with the results. When personal information is uncovered you are presented with several choices such as encryption, which allows you to assign a password to access it in the future, or a secure delete capability which permanently removes it from your computer.
