MusEdit is a powerful yet inexpensive music notation editor (only $79, compared to $200-$800 for other similar software). Use MusEdit to write standard treble and bass music notation, tab notation for 2 - 8 string instruments in any tuning (including bass), rhythm notation, lyrics in any font, and to draw chord diagrams -either from a chord dictionary or by creating your own. Click on the samples above to see full screen examples of these features.

You can also use MusEdit to translate standard music notation to tab, or vice versa; transpose; play your music as sound; print beautiful looking scores, and more... Plus, MusEdit comes with a printed, well illustrated, 284 page manual.

This demo includes all the latest MusEdit features and several sample music files. It allows you to open scores, play them through your sound system, use all of MusEdit's features, and print, so you can see MusEdit's printing abilities, but it DOES NOT allow you to save files, and it will only permit you to convert 20 Midi files (of your choice) to notation.

The Vista/XP/2K demo uses Windows new Help system and works well with Vista security. The 95/98/ME/NT demo uses the older Windows Help system and avoids using system files which are only present in newer versions of Windows. Other than that the features in both versions are almost identical.

Features:

· Viewing Options - Show only the lines or line types you want to see. View small or large staffs and symbols.
· Beaming Notes - Join tailed notes (8th, 16th, etc.) together while entering the notes, or after they've all been entered.
· Chords and Chord Dictionary - Enter chords on Staff and Tab lines with a couple of keystrokes; enter chord diagrams just as easily; choose chord variations from an extensive chord dictionary.
· Line Groups - Automatically enter associated groups of lines (eg. a set of lines consisting of treble, lyrics, and tablature).
· Intelligent Selection, Cutting, And Pasting - Select portions within several lines simultaneously (eg. select a single measure in a pair of musical staff and Tab lines.) Tab lines can be selected, copied, and then pasted into a text document.
· Insertion Shortcuts - Shortcuts make it easy to insert a previous chord, bar, or cluster of beamed notes.
· Movable Score Elements - Symbols, notes, chords, note clusters and words can be slid horizontally and vertically without moving other score elements.
